Question 1 of 813%

Access control

How do you decide who can open which documents?

What the score covers

Four areas, two questions each.

  1. 01

    Access control

Who can open, change and share each document, and how they prove who they are.

  2. 02

    Encryption

Whether stored files and files moving over the network are unreadable to outsiders.

  3. 03

    Audit and retention

A record of who did what to each document, and rules for how long you keep it.

  4. 04

    Backup and recovery

Whether you can get every document back after a failure, a mistake or ransomware.

How long does it take?

About five minutes. There are eight questions, two for each of the four areas, and you can go back and change any answer.

Do you store my answers?

No. Your score is worked out in your browser and is not sent anywhere. If you want to talk it through, you choose whether to contact us.

How is the score worked out?

Each answer scores 0 to 3 points, where 3 is the strongest practice. Your score is your points as a share of the 24 possible. 80% and up is strong, 60 to 79% is good, 40 to 59% is fair and below 40% needs work.
